Susie Brown �Lil� Woman� Starnes, 66, of 1006 Old Edgefield Road, wife of Luther Starnes, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at her home. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Norvle and Myrtle Nix Brown. She was a homemaker and caregiver and attended Sandridge Baptist Church. She and Luther had celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 4. Surviving is her husband of the home; three daughters, Frances Skelton of Chappells, Nancy Skelton of Ninety Six and Annie Jones of Hodges; two sons, Luther Starnes, Jr. of North Carolina and Mack Starnes of Ninety Six; two sisters, Wilma Samples and Pauline McSwain, both of Laurens; four brothers, Jimmy Brown of Ninety Six, John Brown of Laurens, Bill Brown of Edgefield and Bob Brown of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her redneck angel, Shane Jones, Jr., her loving brother, Hamp Brown and many others that she has longed to see again.
