Theodore C. Bobilin, 86, formerly of Pawley's Island, SC and a former resident of Wesley Commons, Greenwood, SC, died on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Columbia, SC.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the second son to Dr. and Mrs. Theodore C. Bobilin of Long Island, NY.
Mr. Bobilin cherished and loved his family. He was devoted to and was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Brenner Bobilin. Surviving are his daughters, Linda Bobilin Crow and her husband, Ross, of Columbia, SC and Patricia A. Bobilin of Suwanee, GA.
He received his B.A. degree in Economics from Maryland's McDaniel College and his commission as an officer in the US Army, Infantry, in 1952. Mr. Bobilin served active duty during the Korean War with his final assignment as an Operations and Training Officer with the 8th Calvary Regiment, 1st Calvary Division in Japan.
For 25 years, he was a member of the National United States Power and Sail Squadrons and loved and owned both forms of boating. He was also played tennis and golf.
Mr. Bobilin's entire business career was in various key management positions with major corporations in the petroleum and auto parts industries. He retired in 1988 at the age of 57.
He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Greenwood, SC, and had been a loyal and lifelong member of various United Methodist churches.
A memorial service will be held at Wesley Commons at a later date.
