Tedd William
Davison
April 26, 1951 – April 15, 2026
Tedd William Davison, 74, of Greenwood, South Carolina, husband of Gail Wicker Davison, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his home.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, on April 26, 1951, he was the son of the late Vern and Lois (Stoeber) Davison. Tedd attended Poland Seminary High School, graduating in 1969, and went on to attend The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering in 1975.
Tedd spent more than 30 years working as an engineer for Industrial Plating, Greenwood Plating, Hitachi, and Michelin. After retiring from engineering, he continued working by taking over his father Vern’s business, the Town One Company, which he operated until his death.
Whether operating a ham radio, learning Japanese, or teaching himself to play the guitar, Tedd approached every hobby with curiosity and enthusiasm. He was a passionate collector of firearms, tools, and audio equipment. An engineer from birth, Tedd rarely encountered a technical problem he couldn’t fix—whether it involved electronics, automobiles, or carpentry. He was also active in the community, serving as the Greenwood County Emergency Communications Coordinator and as treasurer of the Greenwood Amateur Radio Society (AI4WN). Tedd was deeply passionate about his alma mater, The Ohio State University, whether cheering on the football team or proudly flying his Ohio State flag.
While he enjoyed his many hobbies and interests, what he loved most was spending time with his family—especially taking his children and grandchildren out on his boat on Lake Greenwood.
In addition to his wife, Gail, he is survived by his sister, Jill Downie (Bill) of Poland, Ohio; and his children: Mandy (Jay) of Clemmons, North Carolina; Melissa Walker (Brad) of Canfield, Ohio; Sara Rodland (Nick) of Poland, Ohio; Mike Simpson (Stacey) of Summerville, South Carolina; Katherine Gebremedhin (Gebil) of Maplewood, New Jersey; and Grace Geiger (Jon) of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Nora, and Kimi Crouch; Paul, Drew, and Jake Walker; Lyndi, Ela, and Lexi Rodland; Addy, Emma Gail, and Jonathan Simpson, Liam Cousson; Eyoab and Selam Gebremedhin; and Arlo, Jane, and Flora Geiger; as well as many nieces and nephews, and his very dear friend, Zelmo T. Clodfetter.
The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
