Our beloved Teresa Margaret Elgin Kirby, 73, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Ninety-Six. She was born on December 16, 1952, in Greenville, South Carolina.

Teresa will always be remembered with enduring affection as a loving mother, grandmother, and whose life exemplified kindness, and devotion to family. She treasured time with family, especially her grandchildren, and delighted in hosting large and small gatherings for family and friends. She understood the importance of creating lasting memories. Teresa loved traveling throughout the world alongside her late husband, Ralph. She also possessed a lifelong affection for animals of all sizes and would on occasion take her horses to ride along beachside.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Elgin, and Daryl (Kathryn) Elgin, and by her daughter, Stella Stork; two brothers, Tommy Burns, John Burns, and a sister, Debbie Griffith. Grandchildren include Hayden Riggs, Luke Elgin, Carly Elgin, Ryan Elgin, Dallas Elgin, Christina Berryhill, and Caitlyn Berryhill.

Teresa is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Kirby, her parents; Thomas and Doris Burns, one grandson Garrett Elgin, and one granddaughter Madalyn Berryhill. Her grandchildren were the light of her life along with her late husband Ralph. Teresa's life was a blessing to those who knew her, and her memory will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Teresa will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
