Teresa Joyce Sharpe Waters, 70, of Greenwood, wife of Gregory "Gregg" Waters, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at her home.
Born on December 20, 1955, in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Horace Paul Sharpe and Doris Whitt Sharpe.
Teresa was a dedicated guidance liaison at SC Virtual Charter School, where she worked with care and compassion to support her students’ growth and success. Beyond her professional life, she was a loyal member of South Main Baptist Church and a woman who deeply loved Jesus, drawing strength and comfort from her faith throughout her life.
She found joy in simple pleasures, cherishing afternoons spent solving word search puzzles, tending to her garden, reading and baking treats for family and friends. One of her happiest pastimes was traveling with her family to the beach and mountains, creating warm and lasting memories together.
In addition to her husband, Gregg, she is survived by her children, Tyler Waters (Chelsea) of Clinton, and Corrie Harrell (Preston) of Ft. Mill; her grandchildren, Julia, Lincoln, and Amelia Waters, and Addison and Evan Harrell; her brother, Paul Thomas "Tom" Sharpe (Kathy); and with her brother-in-law Terry Mitchell Sr.She was preceded in death by her sister, Judi Mitchell.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Brian Purcell officiating.
The family will receive friends before the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Teresa Joyce Waters will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, her faith, and especially for the love she had for her family. Her gentle spirit and caring heart leave a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
