Obituary

The Rev. C. J. Lupo, Jr., 90, a resident of Wesley Commons, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vera Canaday Lupo, who was his helpmate for 65 years; his children, David E. Lupo (Terry) of Mt. Pleasant, Donald W. Lupo of Tampere, Finland, and Janet Lupo Kerr (Robert) of Columbia; three grandsons, Nathan Lupo (Jen) of Los Angeles, CA, Tim Lupo (Stacy) of Ladson and Matt Kerr (Amanda) of Huntsville, AL; two granddaughters, Meagan Kerr Cutler (Wil) of Ft. Lee, VA and Mandy Kerr Hall (Tim) of Greenville; and two great granddaughters, Skylar Lupo and Ruby Cutler.

A minister, he served United Methodist Churches in Mt. Pleasant and the Isle of Palms, Trinity in Anderson, Marion, Clemson, Trinity in Greenville, Superintendent of the Greenwood District, Washington Street in Columbia and Main Street in Greenwood. He was a delegate to four General and Jurisdictional Conferences and served on the General Board of Pensions and as a member of the World Division of the Board of Global Ministries. In addition, he served on various boards and committees of the Annual Conference and served as chairman of the Wesley Commons Board of Trustees and Planning Committee for four years.

A memorial service will be at held at 2 p.m. Monday in Asbury Hall at Wesley Commons conducted by Pastor Phil Thrailkill and Rev. Kathy Hudson.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
