Thelma Ann Ross McIlvain, 88, formerly of 946 Sunset Drive, Greenwood, wife of Robert C. McIlvain, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Abbeville Nursing Home.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Annie Lou Autry Ross. Ann was the co-owner of Kiddie College and retired from Pilot Life Insurance Company and was a faithful member for 64 years of Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dot Harkins.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are her children, Stan McIlvain (Paula) of Greer, Ross Ann Steifle (Gregg) of Greenwood and Michele Wells (Claude "Bud" Carson) of Abbeville; two step grandchildren, Ashley Steifle Wilkie (Grant) and Brock S. Steifle (Chelsey) both of Greenwood; a sister, Pat Coker of Olympia, WA; and a brother, Jerry Ross (Paulette) of Greenwood.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nicholas Beasley officiating. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 2 to 3pm.
The family request that flowers be omitted and memorials made to Hospice Care of SC, 326 Montague Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, PO Box 3283, Greenwood, SC 29648.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Swanzetta LeVette Watson, who always brightened their mother's day along with Mona Raines, the staff of Ashley Place, Abbeville Nursing Home and Hospice Care of SC for all the love and compassion shown.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Ross Ann Steifle, 109 Rutledge Road, Forest Hills, Greenwood.
