Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Allen Goldman, 72, of Ninety Six, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Born on August 15, 1953 in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Kenneth Hunter Goldman and Mattie Juanita Hancock Goldman.

Tim grew up in the close-knit community of Ninety Six, where he left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him. From an early age, it was clear that Tim was born with a beat in his heart. His talent as a drummer was undeniable, and his professional music career took off immediately after high school when he joined the legendary Swingin' Medallions. Traveling and performing with "The Party Band of the South," Tim shared his gift for percussion with fans far and wide. His faith and his music were intertwined. As a member of Ninety Six Church of God, he spent years playing during services, using his talent to lift spirits and honor his faith.

Alongside his musical pursuits, he owned and operated Tim Goldman's Lawncare and dedicated over 20 years to Newell's Music, where his love for assisting others and knowledge of music shone brightly.
To know Tim was to have a friend. He truly never met a stranger; whether he was at the hardware store, the church, or a gig, he was always engaged in conversation. He was rarely seen without a bright smile on his face. Tim loved nothing more than telling a good joke and watching a room light up with laughter-he believed that making someone smile was a day well spent.

Tim's presence will be deeply missed, but his rhythm lives on in the stories told by his friends and the music that continues to echo through the town he loved so dearly.

He is survived by his sisters, Teresa Martin (Johnny) and Terri Wooten (Mark Bennett); brothers, Jerry Goldman (Jennifer) and Ronnie Goldman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
