Timothy Wayne Peterson, 58, of 409 Port Royal Drive, died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Rolla, MO, he was a son of Forest Robert and Ellen Maxine Watson Peterson. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri, where he received his B.S. degree in Chemistry and his Masters degree in Chemistry Education. He was a professor at Piedmont Technical College. Surviving are his partner, Ellis Keith Madden, of the home; his parents of Hannibal, MO; a son, Timothy David Burkett of Spartanburg; two sisters, Shalini Terri Ghanti of Hannibal, MO and Karen Flanagan of Huntsville, AL and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rankin of Spartanburg.
