Thomas Richard Metz, Sr., 68, of 311 Kingfisher Point, Savannah Lakes, husband of Margaret Anita Metz, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Eugene, OR, he was a son of the late Lt. Col. Adam A. Metz and Margaret Pyne Metz. He retired from the Department of Defense following a career of more than 35 years and was a member of McCormick United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife; his children, Thomas R. Metz, Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Ft. Mill and Sybil Metz Conrad of Ithaca, NY; a brother, Robert Metz of Mississippi; and grandchildren, Dobbs Julien Conrad, Griffin Kenneth Conrad, Bryce Lanier Metz and Marlee Renee Metz.
