Tom Witt's Obituary
Thomas Miller Witt, 77, of 108 Rock House Road, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
Born in Greenwood, he was the biological son of the late Talmadge and Gladys Rushton Witt and was adopted and raised by his aunt and uncle, the late Ralph and Louise Rauton Rushton. He was retired from Greenwood Mills. Tom was a faithful and active member of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church and also faithfully attended Sunday evening services and the Men's Breakfast at South Greenwood Assembly of God.
He is survived by his adopted sisters, Rusty McDaniel of Greenwood, Jeanette Johnson of North Augusta and Patsy Capell of Seneca and his biological sister, Kathryn Witt McKenzie of Indianapolis, IN. Tom had three very special friends and neighbors who faithfully assured his safety and well-being each day – Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Devore and Mr. Carroll Ethridge.
He was preceded in death by adopted siblings, Betty Bodie of West Columbia and Buddy Rushton of Greenwood.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church.
