Thomas "Tommy" H. Eddy, 77, of Ninety Six, husband of Dianne Hendrix Eddy, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Davis C. "Buddy" Eddy and Lillie Mae Ouzts Eddy. He retired from Solutia after thirty-four years and was a faithful and dedicated member of Ninety Six First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, held numerous other positions, and a member of the Men's Bible Class. Tommy was a US Army Sergeant veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. During his time in the service, he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 103, and was honored at the Greenwood County Veterans Center by being placed on the Hall of Heroes. Tommy was also a member of the South Carolina Cattlemen's Association.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne of the home; two sons, Thomas H. "Tommy" Eddy, Jr. (Rebecca) of Taylors and Allen Davis Eddy (Patti) of Laurens; two brothers, Frank E. Eddy, Jr. (Bennie Faye) of Greenwood and David Eddy of Ninety Six; and three grandchildren, Seth Eddy, and Ella Eddy, and Landry Eddy.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ninety Six First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse and Rev. Michael How officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Neal Womack, David Womack, Matthew Womack, Bill Gardner, Jerry Parnell, David Eddy, Jr., and Chris Weeks.
Honorary escort will be Stanley Vines, along with the members of the Men's Bible Class of Ninety Six FIrst Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.
