Thomas "Tommy" Arthur Svenningsen, Sr. 65, of Waterloo, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at his home.

Born on August 1, 1960 in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Emil Julius "Sonny" Svenningsen, Jr. and Barbara Balchin Svenningsen.

Tommy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was working on a car or strumming his well-loved guitar, Tommy poured his heart into everything he did. He was a true artist when it came to fixing vehicles and found joy in the little things, like the roar of his boat on a sunny day. He was also an avid sports enthusiast who loved playing golf and watching NASCAR, often eagerly cheering on his favorite drivers and players. A member of the Waterloo Baptist Church, Tommy cherished his faith and the community around him.

He is survived by his children, Dana Marie Payne(Curvis Ivory) and Tommy Svenningsen, Jr (Krystal); bonus son, Raven McCall; sister, Sally Marie Dudley; grandchildren, Kayla Nicole Payne, Courtney Noel Payne, Alexis Mariah Brison; Meadow Lynn Svennginsen, Miley Jayne Svenningsen, and Mariah Elane Svenningsen; and great grandchildren, Aidan Davis, Kamden Davis, London Davis, Oaklynn Davis, Jordan Nelson, Jackson Nelson, and Paisley Turner.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel.
