Michael Anthony "Tony" Farmer, 58, of 306 Virginia Avenue, husband of Judy Cox Farmer passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Sunday, June 11, 2017 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son to Nancy Cheek Witt (John) and the late Randell T. Farmer. He graduated from Clinton High School and Piedmont Technical College and was employed by Greenwood County. He served in the US Navy and was a member of Friendship Lodge #25 A.F.M. He was a very active member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church where he coached the church's softball team.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Jami Moore (Daniel) and Jeremy Farmer, both of Greenwood; two brothers, Rick Farmer (Alysia) of Greenwood and Jamie Farmer (Yvonne) of Warner Robins, GA; three grandchildren, Tori, Alli Grayce, and Zach Moore; and a special aunt and uncle, Velda and Walter Olbrish of Sumter, SC.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Rice Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Farmer, Cruse Tollison, Jarred Knight, Joe Hughes, Hob Chandler, and Josh Shirley.
Honorary escort will be members of Rice Memorial Baptist Church softball team.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.
