Anthony "Tony" Robert Merchant, 64, of 165 Crepe Myrtle Road, Saluda, husband of Carolyn Crawford Merchant, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at MUSC in Charleston.
Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Robert Edwin and Sara Lee Gillian Merchant. He was retired from Medtronics after forty-four years and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Tony was an outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, and an avid USC Gamecock football fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-two years are his children, Summer Harbin (Matt) of Anderson, Steven "Spanky" Merchant (Megan Anderson) of Greenwood, and Paul Merchant (Kerri) of Donalds and six grandchildren, Paige Fry, Cal Harbin, Cash Vodeisch, Carter Vodeisch, Blake Allen, and Braden Allen.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Chrisley and his brother, Terry Merchant.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Shiloh United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
