Toyce "Ned" McCarthy, Jr. 64, beloved husband of Sandi McCarthy, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Hospice of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Martha Finley Riley and Toyce Ned McCarthy, Sr.

Ned was married to Sandi McCarthy who loved and cared for him for 47 wonderful years. He was a jack of all trades, but his greatest passion was being a pastor, sharing the love of the Lord wherever he went. Ned felt most at home when he was outside, be it hunting, fishing, or even a simple family outing. He loved being a grandfather and adored all his kids more than life itself. He was a loving and humble man that will never be forgotten. Ned will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his father, Ned was preceded in death by his brother, John Mark McCarthy.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, is a sister, Joy Smith; nieces, Alisha Marshall and Jennifer McCarthy; great nieces and nephews, Ryan McCarthy, Braelyn M Goodman (David), Arianne McCarthy, John McCarthy-Miller, Dominick Marshall, KateyRose Marshall, and CoraAnn Marshall.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Sandridge Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Marty Dorn officiating.

The family will receive friends before the service from 1:30-2:30 p.m.at the church.
