Travis Eric Peabody, 19 years old, born November 9, 2006, and passed away peacefully with his momma and daddy holding him close in Moncks Corner, SC on Friday June 5, 2026. Travis lost his battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He was the youngest son of Sean D. Peabody and Belinda Hobbs Peabody. He was surrounded by family and friends as he went home to Jesus.
Travis proved several situations wrong by out living doctor’s prognoses. He escaped nearly ten minutes without oxygen without brain damage. He overcame G-tube surgery with a 50/50 chance of not making it. Travis’s heart attack seventeen months ago gave almost no hope for his doctors. He had other plans and continued to live long after their prognosis of two hours from removing his ventilator. His little fragile body just could not fight any longer this time.
Travis was a beloved son, brother and friend to everyone that knew him. He never met a stranger and truly passed away famous in a small town.
Travis graduated from Berkeley High School in 2025. He loved school, his teachers and was very popular with all the young ladies. Travis loved clothes, always dressed nicely, especially for the four junior/senior proms he attended. He loved his camouflage and would be proud of us dressing him in his best Bottomland coat for his service.
Travis filled our lives with nearly endless conversations and questions about every subject imaginable. He always left everyone with a new appreciation for the way in which we should live life to the fullest.
Travis loved pretty girls, video games, the outdoors, visiting our neighbors, policing our boat landing while making friends with every boater putting in our lake. Travis was well traveled and he especially loved each hunting and fishing trip. He also loved his miracle league baseball games. Travis loved God and going to church. When he accepted Jesus as his savior he asked to be baptized in our lake, and he was.
Travis faced unimaginable obstacles with his disease, he kept the most positive attitude. His love for people, family, friends and life was infectious and amazing to witness. He loved everyone and everyone loved Travis.
Travis is survived by his parents, Sean and Belinda Hobbs Peabody of the home; four sisters, Jessica (Benton) Wharton of Hendersonville, TN; Kimberly Renea Magness of Moncks Corner, Audrey Haven (Cody Gooch) of Burns, TN, Allison Brett (Logan McMellon) of Seneca, one brother, River Sean Peabody of Moncks Corner; several nieces and nephews also survive Travis; Holden and Townsend children of Jessica and Benton, Brantley, Sawyer and Truett children of Kimberly, Emma Rae child of River and Chianne, Reed and Forrest Leigh children of Havan and Cody, and Myles Travis child of Brett and Logan.
