Tyler
Johnson
Jul 23, 1996 — Jul 22, 2026
Greenwood
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tyler Shawn Johnson “Batman”, who entered into Heaven’s Gate on July 22, 2026, at the age of 29. July 23rd, he would have celebrated his 30th birthday. We choose to celebrate the life he lived, the love he gave, and the countless lives he touched.
Tyler was defined above all by his kind and genuine heart. He was the person everyone knew they could count on—someone who never hesitated to set aside whatever he had going on to lend a helping hand. Whether he was under the hood of a car, making repairs around the house, or jumping in to assist a friend with a project, Tyler found pure joy in working with his hands and fixing things for those he loved. Tyler loved outdoors and boating on the lake with family and friends.
Wherever Tyler went, joy was sure to follow. His quick wit, playful jokes, and bright, contagious smile had an extraordinary way of lifting everyone's spirits. He brought that same passion for life to his love of travel, always eager for the next adventure and ready to experience everything the world had to offer. No matter where life led him, there was always something special about returning to the people and places he loved most.
Like so many, Tyler quietly carried burdens that were not always visible to those around him. Yet through it all, his life was defined far more by his compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for others than by the battles he faced. We find comfort in knowing those burdens have been lifted, and that he is now at perfect peace in the presence of Jesus Christ, whose love and grace are greater than anything this world can offer.
He is survived by his parents, Danny Lukus Johnson and Tina Smith Johnson; sister, Dannette Sherfield (TJ); brother, Daniel Johnson; God mother, Terina Harvley; nieces, Halie Duncan (Morgan), Kristina Gunter, and Pamela Nicole Freeman; great niece, Katherine Duncan; and girlfriend, Greyson Smith.
Services pending.
Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life. Tyler’s smile, his servant’s heart, and the love he so freely shared will live on in the memories of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
