Vera Compton Carroll, 92, of 2201 Ninety Six Highway, widow of Abbie R. Carroll, Sr. died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Willis E. and Emmie Waites Compton. She was retired from Greenwood Mills and had been employed by Shady Grove Rest Home. She was a member of New Market Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Betty Ann Carroll Adams and Abbie R. Carroll, Jr. and her brother, Joe E. Compton. Surviving is her sister, Rosemary (Harold) Davis of Greenwood; grandchildren, James (Tammy) Adams and Joanne (Robert) Rush of Ninety Six, Tim (Tara) Carroll of Lexington and Teddy Carroll of Ware Shoals; great grandchildren, Miranda Carroll, Meredith Carroll and Joshua Carroll, all of Lexington and Joey Bundrick of Ninety Six; and great great grandchildren, Landon and Kaylee Bundrick of Ninety Six.
