Polly Viola Smith Mooney, 94, of 106 Appian Way, widow of Charlie Ashbury Mooney, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Vista, GA, she was a daughter of the late James Melvin and Nancy Calline Cheatham Smith. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn Smith of Greenwood; three sons, Charles Mooney of Stafford, VA, Melvin Mooney of Greenwood and Gary Mooney of Woodbridge, VA; a sister, Cornelia Williamson of Winder, GA; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Vela Mae Martin, Geneva Johnson and Florine Evitt; two brothers, Melvin Smith and Clarence Smith; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Mooney and a grandson, Terry Kelley.
