Vonnie Watson Simpson, 66, of 119 Marshall Circle, wife of Roy Simpson, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 at her home.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Edward Watson and Virl Watson. She received her associate degree from Piedmont Technical College and retired from Skinner Company, where she was the office manager. Vonnie enjoyed going camping, cooking, and baking. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and was always happy spending time with them. Vonnie was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy of the home; daughter, Christy Lawson (Charly) of Greenwood; two sisters, Lanita Driggers (Danny) of Pelzer and Linda Malone (Paul) of Greenville; three grandchildren, Kaylyn Powell (James), Kamron Rush (Selena Hollingsworth), and Lukas Lawson; along with extended family and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Garrison officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Charly Lawson, Kamron Rush, Paul Malone, Danny Driggers, Kevin Banister, and Hal Simpson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jordan Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 1267, Greenwood, SC 29648.
