Wallace F. Wideman, 83, of 100 Cullum Street, Greenwood, husband of Peggy Davis Wideman, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Hospice House.
Born in McCormick, he was a son of the late Leonard and Katie Mae Finley Wideman. Mr. Wideman retired from Greenwood Mills- Mathews Plant #1 where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He loved his family and Lord and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. Mr. Wideman was a member of Providence Pentecostal Holiness Church. He faithfully served the Lord through ushering, several terms as pastor council and an active prayer warrior.
He was preceded in death by three siblings, George Wideman, Jack Wideman and Myrtle McCuen; and a grandson, Stephen Wideman.
Surviving are his children, Randy Wideman (Linda) of Vaucluse, Marsha Franklin (Ricky) of Graniteville, Tammy Sprouse (Jerry) and Jeff Wideman (Julie), both of Greenwood; a brother, Charles Wideman (Brenda) of Greenwood; seven grandchildren: Melissa Joiner, Richie Franklin, Candice Kincaid (Carl), Keri Sprouse, Christian Sprouse, Savannah Wideman and Anna Grace Cox; and five great grandchildren, Justin, Brayden, Anslee, Carlie and Chloe.
Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Edwards and Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Sam Hart officiating.
Pallbearers will be Clark Saxon, Arvie Southerland, Shannon Riley, Jerry Sprouse, Christian Sprouse, Robert Wideman and Del Fellows.
Honorary escort will be Lewis Beaube, Philicia Beaube, Joey Hough, Elliott and Linda Temples, Fred and Joanne Holmes, Betty Moser, June Day, Betty Stewart, Dawn and Jack Orr.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
