Wanda Amelia Prather Jodon, 69, of Greenwood, wife of Roger Dale Jodon, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Hospice of Laurens County.
Born on November 14, 1956, in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Al Prather and Sybil Minor Prather. She was a woman whose loving nature and selfless spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Wanda wore her heart on her sleeve and always placed her family above all else, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Wanda graduated from Belleville East High School in 1975 and went on to work in Customer Service with Wells Fargo. Her greatest joy though was being a “Nannie,” a name lovingly given to her by her grandchildren. Her granddaughters especially delighted her by putting on little shows just to bring a smile to her face.
She enjoyed a variety of simple pleasures that reflected her warm and gentle soul. Wanda loved horses, the beauty of the mountains, and playing Candy Crush. She often found comfort in her cozy bed, accompanied by a refreshing Diet Pepsi. She was also an avid viewer of Westerns like Gun Smoke and enjoyed the lively entertainment of Jerry Springer. Most of all, Wanda treasured her soap operas, especially "Days of Our Lives" and she made it clear that there was no interrupting her when those soaps were on.
Wanda’s family was the center of her world. In addition to her husband, Roger she is survived by her daughters, Amy Owensby (Scotty), and Amanda Prather; her brothers, Eddie Prather (Sharon) and Tolly Prather (Debbie); and her grandchildren, Madeline Smith, Kristian Harrison (Taylor), Dylan Harrison (Heather), Brittany Epley, Aria Rose Daniel, James Parker Harrison, and Kohen Jake Harrison.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; her sister, Teresa McKellar; and her brother, Alford B. Prather.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig McDaniel officiating.
The family will receive friends before the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
