William Ray Carlisle, 74, of 226 Joshua�s Place, husband of Frances Ann Edwards Carlisle, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at Hospice of Laurens. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Joseph Thornton Carlisle and Essie Watts Carlisle. He retired from the U.S. Post Office of Joanna, SC, where he was a member of the NALC and worked for American Securities. Mr. Carlisle was in the S.C. Army National Guard for eleven years and was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are, a son, Michael Ray Carlisle, of the home; two daughters, Teresa Kay Carlisle Gaines, of Clinton and Margie Denise Carlisle, of the home; grandchildren, Jason Erik Carlisle of the home, Erika Denise Tuck, of Lyman, Bunnie Gaines and Melissa Gaines Brock, both of Anderson; a special cousin, Margie Knawhaw; and five great grandchildren.
