Obituary

William Elliott �Bill� Clark, 80, of 104 Hemlock Court, Milford Manor, husband of Ruby V. Clark, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in New Bedford, MA, he was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar L. and Elizabeth A. White Clark and his sister, Janet Thankful Reynolds. He was a graduate of Nichols College, where he received his degree in business administration and accounting. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1998 following a successful 46 year career in the business world and was a past member of American Management Association. Since 1971, Bill was a member of the Greenwood Rotary Club, serving as president of the club and as Governor of District 7750. He was the recipient of the �Service Above Self� Award, which is the highest honor to a Rotarian as authorized by the Rotary International Board of Directors, was a Paul Harris Fellow and a Rotary Foundation Benefactor. Bill was a volunteer for HospiceCare of the Piedmont and, in April 2009, was awarded their �Heart of Hospice� Award. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he has served as a deacon, an elder, a member of the Chancel Choir and the GAP (Golden Age Presbyterians) and was a past member of the Heritage Room Committee. Surviving are his wife, Ruby, of the home; a daughter, Linda R. Clark; a son, Thomas C. Clark and his wife, Tamara, and grandchildren, Drew Lyle and his wife, Sarah, Cameron Clark and Christian Clark.
