William E. Fisher, 93, formerly of 3220 Golf Course Road, Ninety Six, widower of Nellie Kelley Fisher, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Morningside Assisted Living. Born in Ninety Six, he was a United States Army veteran having served during WWII in Italy with the 10th Mountain Division. William was a Purple Heart, Bronze and Silver Star recipient, in the Greenwood County Veterans Hall of Honors, in the American Legion Ninety Six Post 103 where he past Commander and a member of the NRA. He retired from Greenwood Mills Plant # 7 and 10 and started Fishers Refrigeration and Appliance. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Fisher (Charlene) of Ninety Six and Bobby Fisher (Cathy) of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Eric Fisher (Kelley), Jennifer Wertz (B.J.) and Kim Hatcher (Chuck); and five great grandchildren, Brandon Fisher, Austin Wertz, Courtney Wertz, Ethan Hatcher and Avery Hatcher. Pallbearers will be Wayne Davis, Jimmy Davis, Tommy Worrill, Earl Kelley, Larry Bryson and Jimmy Kelley. Honorary escort will be the members of the American Legion Ninety Six Post 103. The family members are at their respective homes.
