William Merle Head, 69, of Greenwood, widower of Mary Stanley Head, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Laurens, he was the son of the late Broadus Merle and Mary Louise Nabors Wynn. He was previously employed by Kaiser Aluminum and was an U.S. Army veteran, where he served in Vietnam War.

Surviving are his son, William "Billy" Alonzo Head (Angela) of Pittsburg, KS; sisters, Ann Miller of Ninety Six, MaryJane Adams (Barry), Tammy Reynolds (Roy), both of Waterloo, and Kim Turner (Stephen) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jazmyn Head of Greenwood, Kayla Pippin and Annamarie Pippin, both of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Merle was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Danny Miller.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Reynolds officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
