Winifred Dunlap Henderson was born on May 28, 1920 and released from her earthly constraints on May 23, 2011 at 4 a.m. to join the heavenly family that awaited her. She was born to the late John Fletcher Dunlap and Permelia Clark Dunlap. She married James Andrew Henderson in 1940 � they enjoyed 65 years together before his death in 2005. She was preceded in death by brothers, Rev. Leonard (Len), Austin (Auss), Levis, Prue, Ronnie and Raymond and by sisters, Daisy Holliday, Pearl Brown, Stella King, Annie Dunlap, Lucille Turman and Ethel Dunlap. She was the best of mothers and friends. A true mother hen who wanted to gather all she loved under her wings to love and protect. She lived a good, long, Christian life and will be truly missed. She leaves two sons, James A. Henderson of Glassboro, NJ and John F. Henderson of the home in Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Nell Henderson of McCormick; a special niece, Mrs. Dorothy Dunlap Dillashaw and numerous very loved nephews, nieces and cousins of the Dunlap-Clark-Marett and Henderson-McNeill-Traylor families. She lived and loved life until the final few days when the many burdens of the flesh became too much to bear. Like one of her much loved birds, she has taken flight to a higher place to look down with loving eyes on all those she loves. God gives us each a mother � we thank God that she was ours.
